If only stronger (Adidas Copa Mundial)

Advantages: soft moulding leather, the studs, the look

Disadvantages: weakness, weight

I love these boots, unfortunately they have a to common knack of seperating from the sole near the ball of the foot, but most boots do this. However, not as frequently as these. Out of about 6 other teamates who all sport these boots, everyones has split in the same spot on both feet (which you would think eliminates any individual reasons for this). After looking into this problem, i came across an atricle written by a supposedly sponsored footballer, claiming he and his teamates had experienced the same problem. This footballer claims he spoke to adidas, and they told him, "dubbin" (a popular cleaning/"protecting" product used by many players, including my teamates and I, and this particular footballer) has an affect on the glue used on Copa Mundials, and inturn weakens it. Whether this is true i am not sure, but would love to know, and am now in the process of deciding if i should once again buy these boots, and not use "dubbin' on them, or if i should buy another boot.

Another con of these boots is they are an old design using old technology, which im not saying is a bad thing, but with the new lighter boots (e.g. the new predators), these boots are beginning to age, and you would think the weight of a boot is pretty important. However those 198gram nikes are meant to be shockers for comfort.

Pros : Everything else, love the feel. LOVE the studs and ofcourse the look.

If the reason for these boots falling apart was merely the use of "dubbin" then they'd be a 5 star boot for sure, but i'll gues ill have to see on that if i buy a new pair (likely, unless the sheer lightness and comfort of the prediator mania is to much to resist, (UGLY buggers but arent they ?)
