Advantages: Comfortable
Disadvantages: Bad Design, No Quality for your money, Badly Made
I purchased a pair of Addidas Preditors for my boyfriend at a discounted price to £90. He was highly delighted when they arrived, having a good reputation for being a very good, worthy boot to warrant spending that much on a pair. Their reputation was the deciding factor for us to purchase them. Many world class players wear them, good advertising and reviews made me inclinded to even consider them.
After prompt delivery they fitted well and looked wonderful, it was only after they had been worn for the 10th time that the problems started to appear. (Being the 10th time, i mean hardly used and very well looked after - these boots were still nearly new). The whole undersole, the plastic part at the toe end of the boot began to crack where the studs were which held it on. During a game grass and mud started to get inbetween the plastic part and the actual boot making it incredible difficult and uncomfy to play in.
During the last game these said boots were work, the whole undersole "plastic part" broke away, leaving now grip, and no blades, rendering these boots totally useless. Obviously due to the amount i paid for them, you do not expect this to happen to a "quality" boot. If i had paid £20, then fair enough, but for £90 you expect a whole lot more and for them to last consideribly longer.
So, we were down a pair of boots. I contacted the shop i purchased them from, and returned them. After which they could not give me a refund due to the amount of time we had had them, and actually said "we'd got our wear out of them!". I found that unacceptable, £90 for ten games or so?, that's outrageous. So, I have sent them to Addidas, probably never to be seen again. The whole design of the sole needs reviewing, the gold studs which hold it on just crack around the plastic, and it needs some other way of being attached.
I believe these boots have been a complete waste of money and for the amount you pay for them, you at least should get some quality craftsman ship. Preditors are a fabulous football boot - if you don't actually want to play football in them.
