Advantages: Hard-wearing, comfortable, look decent

Disadvantages: Expensive for some, some people may prefer a more elaborate design

These are classic football boots in both design and feel. These boots have been worn in various forms by legends of the game over the years, from Franz Beckenbauer to Bobby Moore, from Joe Cole to myself. It's easy to see why too. I bought mine four years ago and after wearing them a lot week-in week-out they are still very comfortable and they are in good condition. This is despite my reckless playing style I may add, my boots can often be seen flying into a sea of studs and they always come out unscathed. This is the best thing with these boots, they are extremely hard wearing and durable. They may cost are a fair, at £64.99 on amazon it's not the cheapest pair of boots but they do last a very long time. I mean if you divide how many years I've been playing in them (four years) by how much they cost now (£65) you get £16.25 a year, which is remarkable value. I'm sure if you are reading this you are like me, you are frustrated yet laugh a lot at all the people who buy super expensive, ridiculous coloured boots which fall apart after a few months. These don't and they are more comfortable too.

The leather is hard-wearing yet soft on the foot. Your foot fits snugly into the boot and the leather forms itself around your foot after a few uses which makes the fitting ever more comfortable. The sole is nice and comfortable, you don't feel all the studs through it which can often happen with new, flimsily built boots which are everywhere nowadays. The sole does wear out however, although it only started doing this recently for me, so four years of use before it started doing this is very good. This is probably due to me playing on some frankly ridiculous pitches more than anything!

What I like about these boots is they are unassuming. You turn up on a football pitch with them on nobody is going to have an opinion on you. This is good for two things, number one you won't get singled out by the other team for having girly boots. Number two, they won't expect you to be any good, so on that rare occasion I am any good it's nice to see the surprise on their faces! That said, I really do like the classic, plain look of these boots. The adidas stripes do look great against the plain black boots.

The studs are very easy to change with a regulation stud changer and the holes in the boot can fit the vast majority of studs if you ever need to change them. However I have never lost a stud and unless you play on concrete, which would be silly but also quite funny to watch, you won't have any problems.

Summary: A good football boot which has stood the test of time.
