Advantages: easy to put up and take down

Disadvantages: quite small

My five year old daughter had been crazing me to camp outside in the garden since watching Peppa Pig doing it, so I finally gave in and agreed to do it.

Now, I'm not a big fan of camping as I like my home comforts too much so I didn't want to spend too much on a tent, since I knew that it probably wasn't going to get much use.

I figured Argos would be the best place to get a cheap one so off we trundled to my nearest Argos (luckily only a 2 minute drive!)

Anyway I was pleasantly surprised to find this 2 person dome tent at the great price of £12.99 - just what we needed.

It comes in small bag and is very lightweight and easy to carry.
In the bag are clear instructions, tent pegs and poles, and also spare pegs and poles.

The tent comes in one piece with a built in groundsheet. All you have to do is thread the fold up poles through the spaces in the tent so you form a cross, and then secure these in the ground, then bang the tent pegs in, and tighten the pre-attached guy ropes. I would say it probably took me about 10-15 minutes to put up, but now I know how to, I could probably do it in about 5 minutes.

It has a double zipped door at the front, and covered ventilation at the top. Inside there was just enough room for two blow up airbeds and nothing else!!!

We began our 'camping' expedition at about 6pm, armed with drinks, snacks, portable DVD player and a lamp. We lasted until 2am in the morning, when toilet needs and the cold got the better of me, so we ventured back indoors to a nice warm bed.

However, we thoroughly enjoyed our short 'camping trip' and at £12.99 this tent certainly didn't break the bank.

Its an excellent buy, and would be ideal for music festival goers, walking holidays, but not a family camping trip, as it is very small, but it does the job required and it kept us dry, if not warm, but it was a very cold night!

I can thoroughly recommend this tent, and may even have another 'camping trip' when the weather gets a bit warmer.

Summary: An excellent value small tent

Some of these tents are easy to erect but a nightmare to get folded back up again. What a bargain though! Caroline xx
