Advantages: It's hard and Tough, and heaps of fun to watch, better than Soccer

Disadvantages: It has to end, and my team hasn't won a premiership for a few years :(

Ok, so I feel like an idiot cos I've been looking for this category for ages, in the wrong place (thanks Nick!)!

What can I say about this great game?? It is so much tougher than English football! And all Australians will agree with me on this one. English footy is soft compared to this, Rugby is soft compared to this!

There is allowed to be a maximum of 18 players on the ground for each team at any one time, with at least four players on the interchange bench. Interchanges can be made at any time during the game, except for when the ball is in the middle of the ground being bounced at the start of a Quarter or after a goal has been kicked.

The game is divided into 4 Quarters of at least 20 minutes long, and during this time teams try to kick goals, but sometimes manage to kick Behinds. There are four poles set up at each end of the ground (an oval shape). there are two big poles in the middle and to get a goal, a player has to kick the ball through these posts. there is a smaller post situated at either side of the goal posts, and if the ball is kicked between a goal post and this small post (behind post) the team is awarded a behind which is valued at one point. Goals are 6 points.

There are too many rules for me to go through, so I'm sorry about that.
Ummm... At the moment there are 16 teams in the Australian Football League. These teams are:

Geelong Cats (My Team!!)
Northern Kangaroos
Essendon Bombers
Carlton Blues
Western Bulldogs
Sydney Swans
Brisbane Lions
Port Adelaide Power
Adelaide Crows
Fremantle Dockers
West Coast Eagles
St Kilda Saints
Richmond Tigers
Collingwood Magpies
Hawthorn Hawks and the
Melbourne Demons.

Last season, Essendon won, and they played Melbourne in the Grand Final, it really was one sided cos in the 22 match season, Essendon had only one loss, and thatw as to the Western Bulldogs.

Anyway, all I can say
is that Aussie Rules is the heart of our Nation's sporting history, and I suggest some of you get a look at this great game!!!

I actually haven't seen a GAA hurling game but I love the International Rules game between Aussies and Ireland, it's great!
Yes, whiskas (also known as Garry "Bhudda" Hocking) does play for Geelong

Is Geelong the team who Whiskas plays for?

Great opinion.
We have a "mixed rules" match against the Aussies every year here in Dublin.
As you probably know, it's basically the same game as our Gaelic Football (GAA) which is MAJOR here in Ireland.
And I totally agree. It makes soccer look like a game for wimps, and is probably the most exciting game in the world to watch. It's so FAST.
By the way, did you ever watch a GAA hurling game. They're on Channel 4 now and again. That makes the football seem slow!!!!!
