Bannatyne's Health ClubNewest Review: ... in the weights area, for those who like to check how they are looking at the gym (I personally would rather not see my bright red face). Cardio machines include upright and seated bikes, steppers, cross trainers, treadmills and rowers. There are enough of each so as when I have visited at least there have been no queues for machiners as I have noticed at previous gyms. One feature everyone seems to love is as well as the tv screens on the gym wall, there are also seperate tv screens with sky tv attached to the cv equipment such as bikes, treadmills and cross trainers, so as well as seeing your times and stats for your workout you can also ... more |

Well, I've read many reviews for different Bannatynes clubs and I have to say most of them are not complimentary, so in that mine might make a nice change! Bannatynes Info: Banntynes are a chain of health clubs( gyms to you and I) owned by Dragon's Den entrepenuer Duncan Bannatyne. The first club appeared 11 years ago, but now they have over 60 clubs across England, Scotland and Wales. As well as the gym's a lot of the health clubs also have an attached Sensory spa which provides massages, waxing and various other treatments for both men and women. My Club : My local Bannatynes club is in Bristol, based in Cotham, just off Gloucester Road. The ... Read the complete review

I enjoy being physically fit and active and they do say "A healthy body equals a healthy mind". A very true saying in my opinion. I get a real buzz and feel on a high when I'm exercising, scientifically this probably relates to the release of adrenalin. I also find exercise works for combating stress and I use it as a means to unwind and release my tension after a difficult day at work. Given all of the above, it's not surprising that I'm a member of my local gym - Bannatyne's. I joined around 3 years ago and I visit 3-4 times a week. Consequently I thought I would share my opinion on Dooyoo... Why ... Read the complete review

I have been a member for 5 years and despite many ups and downs I have been happy until Bannatyne took over. There is hardly ever an instructor in the gym they seem to spend all their time on reception chating. Their customer service is terrible, they never return a call, reply to a fax or letter. The MD takes 4-6 weeks to look at a letter sent to him, if I was his boss I would sack him, I am told he is too busy, well a good MD should delegate his work. Many of the members are not happy but in some ways it is better the devil you know. There are some good staff but they never last long, I always joke with one of the staff that he is the longest serving employee at 12 ... Read the complete review

I got taken to the cleaners by Bannatyne's. Rang to cancel my membership in the February when it would be a year old and they said fine, sorry to see you go. No mention of sending it in writing or 3 month quit period REGARDLESS of where you where in your yearly membership. If it was 2 months in fine but not when I had paid the same as someone who had paid for the year up front. Three months later I found they had still been debiting my account. They had no knowledge of my cancellation and said it was my word against theirs. AND I still had to pay another three months membership from that point onwards. £600 for a gym I did not use. They ... I have cancelled my membership with Bannatynes due to ill health, after 2 letters being sent explaining I need to stop my membership because I have been diagnosed with M.S & epilepsy it is no longer safe for me to go, this was in February 2009 & a telephone call in February to confirm they had received the letter which they confirmed they had the letter I am still getting demand letters for the £32 a month. Yet another telephone call today (15/04/09) there is no trace of the call or letter from February and no one on site who can deal with it.. I really need this stress!! Be careful if your thinking about joining I'm on a 1 month cancellation some are 3 month BE AWARE!!
