About 3 years ago, I bought Huffy Sports Basketball hoop, with a base and a pole. I chose this one because you can hcange the height from 10ft down to 7ft for the smaller players. The back board is very strong and durable and is made from Fibreglass.The manual for constructing it is very easy and simple to follow.It gives you recommendations about ising it and useful tips on how to keep it in prime condition. Although I've had it for 3 years it is still like the day I bought it. If you are seriously considering buying a hoop, I suggest a Huffy Sports hoop, They're tuff, durable and easy to construct.
