Basketball may make you think of tall men jumping up to slam dunk the net. However, many people play basketball and it is very popular in America. Basketball is a great way to work out as you are always moving, jumping up and down and making sprints down the side of the court. The basic rules are 5 a side and you play with a specialized basketball to shoot it in the nets a each side on the court. -----INTRO Basketball is my favourite sport to play and to watch. I actually used to like football but when I got injured playing football I just quit the sport. From my knowledge basketball started in the 1890’s. Its actually a funny story how it started though I don’t know in every detail. It started when a P.E teacher was supposed to teach a class of ten students, however the was bad weather that day so he had to come up with a game for the children to play and keep fit.
