When I met my partner I was heavily into Mountain Biking and she was a none cyclist - problem! (Sound familiar?). Well one solution was a tandem. No more old fashioned, heavy and very uncool. There are many makes to choose from and for me the American models were very much of interest. Not least because off-the-peg UK models were not manufactured equal size (i.e. Makers assume the Captain (person on the front) is taller than the Stoker (person on the back)).
