Advantages: Very easy to use, inflates & deflates, great price, easy to store, lightweight.

Disadvantages: A little noisy & greedy with batteries.

This campingaz quickpump airpump is to be used for inflating or deflating airbeds and as I went camping recently and didn't want to waste three hours trying to blow up my airbed this was really an essential item.

It was purchased for around £8.00 from sports-direct.com (instore not online though) by my Mum's boyfriend and is also available online from Amazon.co.uk for £9.42 with free super saver delivery. This is a fantastic price for an item that is going to save a lot of time for us in the coming months as we are intending on going camping a few times and I will be using the double airbed Tom received for his birthday for staying over at my Mums house a few nights a week.

The pump comes in a box and requires 4 D sized batteries (brought 2 X 2 Kodak ones from Poundland for £1.00) and it will provide around 30 minutes of running time for each four batteries so while it's not very economical it does save a lot of time so it's worth it in my opinion.

The pump is very simple in design and the batteries go in a compartment at the bottom of the pump but standing up rather than laying down as I'd have expected. There is two nozzles on the top of the pump; one to inflate & one to deflate and there is an adaptor provided to put on the inflate or deflate nozzles as per your requirements. It's very simple to use just attach the adaptor to the required nozzle and then press the ON/OFF switch on the side to start the inflation or deflation. I found that it took around 1 1/2 - 2 minutes to inflate or deflate an airbed and we had two beds which we inflated on arrival to the campsite and deflated four days later when we departed and the batteries are still working fine so hopefully we will get another couple of trips out of this lot of batteries first.

The pump is quite noisy when in use and once the bed is fully inflated or deflated you will notice a change in the pitch which indicates that it is ready and then you simply turn off the pump and either quickly seal the airbed to avoid deflation or just fold up the airbed and return home.

As well as the pump & the nozzle in the box we received a drawstring bag which was very handy for using on our travels as we simply discarded the box and put the pump & nozzle in to the drawstring bag and packed this along with our tents, airbeds etc.

It was very easy to use and now that we have used one we will definitely be purchasing one for our next camping trip (early July). I would thoroughly recommend this as any addition to an airbed as although it's not very economical on the batteries it does save an awful lot of time and effort in blowing up the airbed by yourself!

I am rating this pump 4/5 and think that it is very reasonably priced. I have knocked off 1 star because it is very greedy with batteries.

Summary: The fastest way to inflate or deflate your airbed.
