Crowned Review Circuit Training: Gym Circuits - a great way to start! (443 words)
by - written on 07/07/00 (Very useful, 309 readings)
Rating:

I've been doing circuits at the local gym for a couple of years now, and recommend it as a way both to familiarise yourself with the equipment if you're new to the gym, and to tone and get fit. The circuit I do is also very social and we always have a cappucino and chat afterwards! Keeps us motivated :) If you've never used a gym before , you will probably be somewhat mystified if not downright terrified of the machines. You will have to complete an introductory session, but however long that is, it won't be long enough to really help you feel confident with using a gym on your own. I remember feeling really stupid watching all the ...  Read the complete review

I loves me sport I does so and when I discovered that Jillmurphy was asking us dooyoo peeps to write about a favourite thing in celebration of her 4 years of cancer-free living I decided (after a brief battle with The Sound of Music) that I had to write about one of my favourite past times – circuit training! The basic premise (I seem to be loving that phrase at the mo!) of circuit training is to simultaneously improve many areas of fitness including flexibility, endurance, strength and stamina. This is done by creating a circuit of stations. Each station boasts a different exercise e.g. press ups/skipping/bicep curls and the individual must perform that ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review What the hell is...Circuit Training? (733 words)

Rating:

Circuit Training is very common in urban areas around the country. It consists of a number of activities performed one after the other. To most athletes, circuit training is thought of as a method of intergrating resistance and aerobic exercise by performing several (nine to twelve) exercises in progression. This means perfoming one set of each exercise on the session 'menu' until all have been completed, as opposed to finishing all sets of the first exercise before progressing to the second with little or no rest between exercises. The supposed benefit of this type of exercise is improving aerobic and anaerobic functioning at the same time. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review real all over body workout!!!! (327 words)

Another of my great work out passions is a good old circuit training class. These are brilliant and by far the best way to an overall workout of every muscle (some you didn;t even know existed!!!) in your entire body. A circuit class normally involves a mixture of both aerobic and exercise workouts. So you will begin by warming up - you know the sort of stuff all that jumping around and going red in the face before you;ve even done anything else!!!!! - followed by a bit of stretching and then onto the first station. Each station (as they're called) has a different workout for you to do. These are placed around the room and you work ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Circuit Training (209 words)

About two months I decided to attempt to increase my fitness levels. I was looking for something that would be give me a good cardiovascular (heart and lungs working together) workout. I went down to my local lesiure centre for and induction and they recommended that I join in on some of the circuit training classes. So the following week there I was. I was slightly apprehensive at first when I was confronted by some rather loud "beat" music for the warm up but after I started I found out the music really helped you get into a rhythm. The first half hour was great fun, but the second was rather more strenuous and I'll admit that I turned into a bit ...  Read the complete review
