Advantages: 'The' name for swimwear

If you're a dedicated follower of fashion at the pool or the beach like me, then you could do much worse than to show off your magnificent body in Speedo swimwear. OK, well perhaps I exaggerated slightly about my body attributes, but the presence of the Speedo name is only going to enhance your 'pool cred' or 'beach style' in the eyes of others.

Speedo is a long established name in the sportswear market in this country and abroad and has become perhaps the most recognisable name in the sports swimwear market as well.

Not a lot of people know that the Speedo brand originated in Australia in the 1920s. Over time the brand grew and became synonymous with swimming, and has maintained its market presence until this day. In fact more international swimmers are decked out in Speedo swimwear than any other brand, outlining the reputation that the brand now has and its dominance within this particular marketplace.

I own one pair of Speedos - a slinky set of black trunks that are allowed to see the light of day on the rare occasions that I venture out to the local swimming pool or take a holiday. I can't pretend that my physique (if that is the right word) shows off this item of clothing to its best effect. However, for the money - a snip at TK Maxx for just £6, I can't really complain. This has been a item of clothing that has worn very well over the years, with little or no visible signs of wear. The mix of nylon and lycra gives a good fit and combined with the design this has certainly been a good buy.

As well as trendy menswear, Speedo also has an extensive range of swimwear for women as well, so there really is something for everyone. Check out the Speedo range at your local sports retailer, fashion store or mail order catalogue - you're bound to find something to suit your needs.
