... is a complete bargain. I had searched the net for a while and most suppliers were selling the same product at up to double the price I paid so I must admit I was a little suspicious at first. However, I needn't have been, the item came a few days later and was just perfect, both my kids now think they are royalty getting towed around our local village. The trailer came complete with full instructions and a safety flag. It will accomodate a couple of children from 12 months up to about 4 years or one child up un...more

Crowned Review Cycling Accessories: Ooh Gorgeous! - Speedzone Comp Cycle Computer (1919 words)
by - written on 18/11/02 (Very useful, 3829 readings)
Rating:

Oh boy oh boy when I say this baby is gorgeous you had better bloomin’ well believe it! Those of you have happened across me before will know that I love sport and am a keen triathlete, I also don’t have a car as I’m a pauper... therefore cycling is a crucial part of my life! Having become rather unhealthy interested in cycling over the past few months (and having just bought a sexy new bike... is anyone else disturbed by the way I seem to fancy inanimate objects?....) I’ve been spending rather too much time browsing cycling mags for different ways to modify by fleet of bikes. One day the other week I happened upon a review of an online ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Behind or In front? Child Bike seat. (582 words)
by - written on 29/07/02 (Very useful, 10204 readings)
Rating:

I'm not the world's best cyclist and neither is my wife, but I am 45 and in need of excercise so we decided we should 'get out on the bikes more'. The problem with that was that we have a 15 month old baby boy, so how to carry him. I looked at all the options, rear seats, trailers and eventually came across this 'tube mounted seat'. If I wanted to carry 2 children I would have needed a trailer, and don't get me wrong, I do like them and will probably get one sometime, but for now I wanted a seat that would keep me closer to Conor (my little boy) and be good for him. In a trailer or in a rear seat I could see him just falling ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Cycling Accessories: When the trailer?s better than the adverts! (1161 words)
by - written on 28/08/01 (Very useful, 1043 readings)
Rating:

A sturdy bicycle trailer come double buggy that attaches easily and safely onto any mountain bike. Designed for 1/2 child/ren who can support their head to approximately 7 years old. Costs just over £150, which includes postage and packing within the U.K. We bought our trailer as a fist purchase on the net. I had read many opinions on ebay and the amazing deals that some of you guys had and felt that I would certainly give it a look. Having decided that I didn?t want a bum the size of Jersey spending the entire day driving a bus, a pushbike was a practical option. The only difficulty being, having two toddlers, who also wanted to enjoy the fun. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Light up your life - Cat Eye HL500 Mk2 Viz 360 (535 words)
by - written on 08/10/00 (Very useful, 404 readings)
Rating:

Cat Eye HL500 Mk2 6Watt This is a dual headlight set based on the able Cat Eye HL500 Mk2, some clever little expanders on the mountings allow you to plug a frame mounted 6V battery into these lights for 2 x 6watts of light power. Take these expanders out and you can load the light up with 4 AA batteries (I haven't tried this yet). The light distribution from each of the lamps includes both closeup and beam distribution, unfortunately the beam pattern is a ring of light with an annoying dark area right in the middle, obviously carefully overlapping the lamp output helps solve this. Just one of these lights is more than enough for road use or ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Cycling Accessories: Magura Hydraulic Rim Brakes (414 words)
by - written on 24/05/01 (Very useful, 586 readings)
Rating:

Magura Brakes are renowned in the cycling industry for making high quality (well they are german) hydraulic systems for mountain bikes. As a cycle mechanic, I have set up any number of these brakes, and firmly believe that if you consider buying any you should get them fitted professionally. This will cost a bit (expect to pay around 1 hours labour at least), but its worth it at the end of the day. You shouldnt get uneven brake wear or annoying squeals. I would also recommend looking at getting brake boosters if the units you pirchase dont come with them. Hydraulic brakes are extremely powerful, and its true to say that most brake mounts are not ...  Read the complete review
