Although I have always enjoyed cycling, I never saw it as a sport until 4 years ago when I began dating a guy who is a keen cyclist. He loved and loves cycling so much, that I became quite intrigued. When he offered me to go cycling together on a racing bike he had found for me, I was a bit wary. The position you have to adopt on these bikes is different from the traditional ones, but I decided to give it a try. We went to Richmond Park and although we got some rain, I enjoyed the day out and from that moment I developed an interest in cycling. I soon found out that on a flat stretch of the road, I could cycle decently well, but as soon as a bit of ... Read the complete review

Cycling can be enormous fun, but it can be an absolute nightmare if the heavens open and you are 50 miles from home, in the pouring rain and the howling winds, with only your mountain bike and your own rapidly decreasing energy to get you back home. The driving rain (and how you wish you had a car to drive at moments like these) quickly soaks through your clothes, leaving you soaked to the skin, shortly after your shoes are reduced to a soggy mess of materials on your feet. Fearing hypothermia, you have no choice other than to continue across the desolate moors, hoping your fingers wont freeze to the handlebars. This happened to me, and ... Read the complete review

We have all been there - big puddle + bicyle = wet cold feet, and with winter upon us those type of days just grow in frequency. A couple of years ago I got fed up with it all and got a pair of Porelle waterproof socks. The do exactly what it says on the tin - still water proof and breathable after two years regular use - truly a revelation! They work best in the puddle situation - your feet will stay bone dry, but if it is raining heavily you might find the socks actually filling up with water as the rain runs down your legs and into the socks through the tops. The socks claim to be thermal as well, but in my experience you would never realise this - ... Read the complete review

If you are really keen on cycling and you spend more then an hour a session ridding, then you should consider cycling clothing. I was freezing all this spring ridding my bicycle. No matter haw many clothes you put on you the wind will still get you, it literally cuts trough cotton fabrics. And when you sweat it can feel pretty uncomfortable, and if you don't wear special breathable fabrics the sweat will only sit on your clothes and skin for longer. I thought my own normal cloths are good enough but boy I was wrong as special type of clothing make a hell of a difference. Here are a few basic things that I have learnt trough my ... This review is meant to be about cycling clothes only, there is a separate field in Dooyoo about cycling, the sport, and I intend to write there as well. Cycling clothes are meant to provide comfort to the rider and they are different according to the season. Any cyclist would have at least a winter set of clothes and a summer one. In fact, if you are a serious cyclist, you have 2 of each sets, because you want to wash them regularly. The jersey is meant to have 3 pockets on the back of it, where you can keep your mobile, money, keys and some light food. I prefer jerseys with a front zip which goes from top to the bottom, but they are ... Read the complete review
