Cycling Equipment in generalNewest Review: ... using a wire. This has the advantage that the sensor is a passive part of the system, taking it's power from the main unit. On the down-side it means that if your bike has front suspension forks, you will have to allow enough wire between the sensor and the computer to cope with the forks at full stretch yet keep it tight enough that the wire doesn't foul when the forks are fully compressed. New Fangled computers are wireless and use a weak radio link between the sensor and the computer. This is great news for people with front supension as you don't have to worry about slack wire when the fork is at maximum compression but i... more |

A quick guide to choosing a Computer for your bike... Why would you want one? You would want a cycle computer if you are riding your bike and have a desire to know: - how fast you are going; - how fast you have been; - how far you have travelled; - your average speed; - how long you have been riding; - what the time is. How do they do it? All cycle computers work on the same basic principle, you attach a magnet to a spoke on the front wheel and a sensor counts how fast the wheel is turning. Once you tell the computer the size of your wheel it can calculate how fast you are going. Counters are maintained to record ... Read the complete review

In preparation for the 78 mile bike ride I did earlier this week I had to buy quite a large amount of kit. Water bottle, helmet, new back tyre and the item which is the subject of this review, Nimrod cycling gloves. As you can well imagine 78 miles on a bike takes quite a while and I thought that considering I was going to be propping my body up on my arms the entire time I might as well get something to make it more comfortable. Not only that I wanted something to keep my hands warm because I knew they would get cold. I went into my local JJB sports and asked if they had any cycling gloves. The helpful lady took me to the boxing glove section at first ( another ... Read the complete review

Amazing these forks work really well if you want to buy some forks choose these marzocchi offer the best. You can buy z5 z4 z3 z2 z1 or shivers these are new and very exp. I wouldn advise these forks for a road bike only jump or down hill most of the range have 80 ml travel plus. Dont settle for anything less choose marzocchi and all the frks come with a manual and are extremely light if you dont believe me go and try them yourself! ... Read the complete review

I bought this crankset recently for my new bike. If ever there is a prize given for the best crank ever, i believe that this is the one that should get it. The complete crankset and rings itself is unbelievebly lightweight (just 647grams), 50 grams lighter than an XTR Crankset! Ontop of this the beefy hollowtech design makes it super stiff, with no noticable flexing. I've heard many reports that this crank creaks all the time, but this simply isn't the case. - one person said that he kept them super clean, and still they creaked, the thin is you are mean't to load cranks up with as much grease as you can to stop creaking, ... HALFORDS Dirt Monkey. If your on the market for a Bumbag, I strongly reccommend this bit of kit. Purchased from most Halfords retailers for around £15, it makes a lot of sense & here"s why. I found a small bumbag restrictive for that reason......too small. I needed something which wouldn"t break my back but could hold a decent amount of stuff. The Dirt Monkey has a 7 litre rear pouch which I use to store my repair kit, spare tube, shower proof jacket & lunch.Attached to the pouch is a small zipped pocket. A useful touch is that across the top of the pouch is a reflective strip. To either side of the pouch are 2 water ... Read the complete review
