Cycling is one of the best forms of exercise to keep fit. With swimming being the best, cycling comes near the top. When cycling, not only are you working your legs to a great extent, but also your whole body including your stomach muscles and arms. Therefore, if you cycle regularly on a frequent basis, then not only will you find it easier, but you will achieve a nice tone to your body. There are many bikes out there to purchase, but it depends on what type of cycling you want to go into. There are two main types: off road or mountain biking and speed cycling for long distance. If you are adventurous and live in the country side nearby big forests, then you ... Read the complete review

Cycling is one of the few sports, or activities, which can be done into an old age. I had my first bicyle when I was 2 years old, my father is a very keen cyclist and used to compete semi professionally when he was young and later he competed in the amateurs category. I took the pasison for cycling form him although I have never done any competition. I can cycle up to 80-100 kilometres at the peak of my form in summer. I cycle with some friends but also alone. I fnd that when I cycle alone I get tired much earlier, there is a lot of mental effort and concentration in cycling, as they say, you cycle with your head first and with your legs ... I have never been a keen, or evangelical cyclist, but I do use a bike to get from A to B, providing A’s quite near B on the public road. For me, the real pleasure of cycling comes from the off-road stuff. No, I’m not one of these mountain-bikers who pride themselves in being able to go up 30% inclines on mud, I just like canal banks and parks etc. However, having just taken early retirement and realised that there’s only so much decorating you can do, before your household DIY becomes like painting the Forth Bridge, I set about looking for a part-time job, which was :- a)Nothing to do with management (I’d had 31 years ... To most people being fit means having a greater endurance capacity or being able to keep going for longer. At the core of this process is the cardiovascular system - your heart, lungs and blood. When you exercise, your muscles need more oxygen in order to convert their fat and carbohydrates stores into usable energy. As you get fitter your CV system improves its ability to deliver oxygen to the working muscles. At the same time your muscles adapt and become more efficient in their use of oxygen,as well as increasing their carbohydrate stores. So regular biking trips can cause all these things to happen.... LUNGS.. ---------- The bodyneeds ... Read the complete review

As a child I loved to go out on my bike and then I sort of stopped as I got older and had access to a car, also living for a while in a city was not compatible with cycle riding as the traffic was just too scary to take the risk of getting on a bike. However in the last couple of years I have rediscovered the joys of a nice cycle ride in the company of my boyfriend, sure he has to do the macho thing and race ahead whenever we get to any sort of incline, and yes hills are an absolute nightmare but in rural Northamptonshire there are plenty of flat bits to enjoy and it is a great way to get out and see the countryside and enjoy the sights.
