It only has 21 gears instead of 24 but it has the better Shimano EZ-fire shifters which are great. I've always been a fan of gripshift, I like being able to just 'flick' the gear I want but I have been very impressed by the EZ shifters, the gears change very smoothly. Another, slightly more minor feature is that the quill stem has been replaced by an Aheadstem which make the bike look that bit better. Edinburgh Bikes is a company based in Edinburgh. They stock several different manufacturer's bikes as well as their own range which are called Edinburgh Bikes. These bikes offer excellent value for money, the best probably being the Contour 300 I am on my second Contour 300, which is the 2000 model. I bought my first Edinburgh bike last year, which was the 99 Contour 300. For £200 the bike came with 24 speed Gripshift, acera/alivio derailleurs and parallax hubs.
