When i first embarked upon a diet and fitness program, i was adamant i didn't want to join the gym. So with a budget in mind, i purchased various pieces of exercise equipment and turned our spare room into a home gym.

Amongst the equipment i purchased, was this inflatable punch bag. I paid £8 for it from Asda at the time, and it came boxed with a puncture repair kit and inflation instructions. It didn't take me too long to blow up, roughly three minutes maximum so i wasn't left breathless and dizzy.

Once inflated i had a few test goes on it, i spent a few minutes kicking and punching it and was really impressed by it. It doesn't tip over either, just bounces back at you as the black base has a ring of sand weighing it down which is handy. The big difference between this and a proper punch bag is it didn't hurt my hands to punch it, nor did it hurt my feet to kick it. I was receiving the full work out without any impact damage, a definite bonus in my eyes. I also found that my stress levels greatly improved using the punch bag, i let off lots of steam during my work out and afterwards felt relaxed and my concentration improved. I guess taking out all my pent up stress and aggression on the punch bag gave me some sort of stress release.

The only negative i have regarding this product is that every few days it loses firmness and i have to spend maybe 30 seconds adding a little more air to it. I guess that goes for anything inflatable though and it takes no time to do, just a bit annoying when i'm in the mood for kicking off some steam and i have to top the punch bag up with air.

Overall i am very happy with this product and i would recommend it to anyone who would like to have a stab at getting fit, not only are you taking up minimum space- it can be moved about really easily and you aren't committing to anything too pricey if you get fed up with it.
