Cheap Leather Ball ------------------------ Often found in stores like sports soccer for £2-£5 these balls are hard, possibly too hard. They hurt your foot and are certain to smash a window upon impact. After an extensive period of play you will notice the ball is starting to fall apart! Not Great. Mid Range Leather Ball ----------------------------- Ideal for the older football fan, not too expensive at around £15 but good looking with a decent brand name on it. Footballs - - Such a simple thing but so many things to do with them Footballs these days are indeed expensive, especially if you want the type which are used in football matches etc (leather). I normally buy the light footballs , and these cost around 1 pounds in most supermarkets. My little boy loves these, admittedly when he is older I will have to bite the bullet and buy the more expensive one but at the moment he is happy with this. The ball is really light and safe, unlike the heavier ones. I am one of those people who flinch at the noise of a football being kicked, however with the light ones you know you are in no danger. Games that you ... Read the complete review

I have to say Footballs are far too expensive. As with most things football prices have escalated beyond control. My husband runs a local youth team and has had to purchase some replacement balls this time around. He thought he’d budgeted wisely leaving £60 for 6 balls in the kitty, after all a quality football won’t cost more than a tenner, will it? How wrong he was, he ended up buying 4 new balls, instead of 6. This doesn’t sound like a big deal however why should someone pay £15+ for a ball made in a 3rd World country for 10pence? I can’t believe it, they’re not even that good quality however he had to fork out a lot of cash ... Read the complete review

How come footballs are so expensive these days? There are some in the shops where you can pay upwards of £60 for them now. What is the point of this? I can see that there is a difference in quality between them and one you pay a fiver for, by not that much surely. Once you reach a certian level of quality that I found in the Mitre series (Ultimax, Permier, etc) you can't go any higher. All this rubbish about latest invention and 'softer' ball is just marketing and you are paying for the Nike and Addidas logos. The balls can't make that much difference to the players ability. ...
