Footjoy Greenjoys
by magicyido When it comes to golf I can not state enough how useful a nice pair of shoes are. You will be doing a lot of walking so you have to make sure that they are comfortable, can be used all year round and will last for a good amount of time. The Greenjoys tick all 3 of these categories. I got my pair given to me when I first ... started playing golf about 3 or 4 years ago and still have them today. They are so comfortable to walk in (which for me being not a very good golfer) is vital as the amount of walking you do in this game you need them. They are also water resistant. Whenever I have played they have kept my feet dry, which again is very handy. As stated already I've had them for a good 3 or 4 years (and still going strong) so I can happily say that they will last you a good amount of time. Admittedly I don't play every weekend but I see no reason why these wouldn't last even the most avid of golfers a good couple of years. Mine still look like brand new! Now the price. It all depends where you get them from. I've seen them in some golf shops for silly prices but you can find them on Amazon for £35-£40 which I think it a very good price! So if you have not got some already or you need a new pair, you should not look further then some Greenjoys! Read the complete review |

Footjoy Greenjoys
by totallyextreme Intro ------ All keen golfers will have a good pair of golf shoes tucked away either in their golf bag or in their garage at home. They are an absolutely essential piece of kit, and quite often, you will not even be allowed on the course without a pair. They are designed to keep your feet stationary and immovable mid swing, ... whilst also keeping your feet nice and dry on the wet ground when you inevitably decide to get caught in a massive rain shower mid round. Footjoy are one of the most recognised brands of golf shoes, and thus, at just £30, these seemed like an obvious purchase to me when my adidas got a bit worn and torn at the end of last summer!!!!! The Greenjoys ------------------ Obviously, there will not be much difference in performance with golf shoes. Do not think that you are going to buy a good pair and magically hit the ball 50 yards further - that is not going to happen! Thus, they are judged on their comfort and ability to deflect water, aspects that these shoes do very well. I have had them well over a month now, and after some initial discomfot, as the shoe was worn in, they are now a joy (get the pun) to wear. They don't even feel like they are hurting after 36 holes, which I played the other day, and I feel very confident they will remain this way. As for waterproofness, this is also a positive. I have only been unfortunate enough to get caught in rain once since the purchase, but they handled the weather very well. I took my shoes off in the changing room after the game and my feet remained nice and dry, a big positive. They are remarkably easy to keep clean, in fact, the shower the other day actually helped this, and the leather is designed to allow grass and mud to come off easily. You may consider some form of protector, but I have not done this and they seem to be coping well. Footjoy do also have a neat option whereby if you buy online you can personalise your shoe, which adds a nice individual touch to a fairly mundane, if necessary, product. Pricewise ------------ As I have already stated these retail around the £30, which is a nice price for such a good quality product - I would not hesitate to recommend. Summary ----------- Bit of a boring purchase, but they are necessary, and these do the job well. Read the complete review |

Footjoy Greenjoys
by JJJJ Golf shoes are often overlooked as an essential piece of sporting equipment - in fact, many people simply think that their sole purpose (pardon the pun) is to make you look like a 1920's gangster. In fact, the golf shoe will keep you firmly rooted to the ground during the swing, and also keep your feet dry during those nasty rainy days ... out on the course. Introducing the GreenJoy... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - GreenJoys are a type of golf shoe made by FootJoy, of which there are a number of styles and varieties - they're basically FootJoy's budget range, and are made from a synthetic upper rather than leather. My pair are identical to the ones shown in dooyoo's picture, and can currently be purchased for £30 online. I would argue that the price is reasonable, considering the fact that golf shoes made by the premium manufactures can frequently cost in excess of £100. My GreenJoys weren't a planned purchase - I was on a golfing trip and had forgotten my own shoes, so I essentially purchased the cheapest pair in the shop, which happened to be said GreenJoys. Specification & Comfort - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The shoes come as standard with soft golf spikes (seven in total) which screw into the rubber underside - these can be replaced with metal spikes if you prefer - but then again, the metal ones aren't widely used these days. In terms of comfort, the GreenJoys were a pleasure to wear for the first year-and-a-half - lovely and padded around the ankle and heel, without any rubbing around the toes. After a year however, the material at the back of the ankle began to split, and the foam interior started to come out. During that time, the shoes caused blisters at the back of the foot, and I had to wear plasters when I went onto the course. To be honest, for the price, a year-and-a-half is a lengthy enough time, and I feel that I had certainly got my money's worth. The GreenJoys are relatively waterproof - but after the second year, the side of one of the shoes began to split slightly, which did make them a wee bit leaky. Maintenance & Final Word - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The shoes are really easy to clean, and I used a standard neutral-coloured Kiwi wax to keep them in shape. The only difficulty is getting the entangled grass from the spikes after a round - but then this is an issue with all golf shoes. In the short term, GreenJoys are great golf shoes - they're comfortable, effective, and cheap - however, the lack of quality begins to show through after a year or so (depending on how much you play golf of course), and here, it's the pricer shoes of this world which have an advantage.
