Advantages: Good for teeing up your golf ball.

Disadvantages: Expensive.

I came across this product while idly browsing the "new products" list, and wondered whether it was included by dooyoo or whether a member had requested its inclusion as a "product suggestion".

As a golfer for over 50 years it amazes me that anyone would think that what golf tee you place your golf ball on when teeing off could possibly make the slightest difference to the quality (or lack of quality) of your golf shot! The sole and only purpose of a golf tee is to raise your golf ball slightly from the grass in order to allow you to get the club head through the ball easier. You vary the height of your tee by pushing it into the ground depending on the loft of the club you are playing. So when you are using a driver (low loft, hits the ball a long way) then most players would tee up the ball quite high off the ground. Whereas when you are using a short iron with lots of loft (9 iron or pitching wedge for example) then you would tee the ball up so that it is barely clearing the grass. (In fact, some golfers don't use a golf tee at all for shorter irons)

Back when the game first began (Scotland in the 15th century) there used to be a small wooden box containing wet sand beside each teeing ground, and the player used to use a thimble to make a tiny sandcastle on which they could tee up their ball. (Trust the Scots not to pay for something they could get for free!)
During the 20th century companies began manufacturing wooden golf tees to replace the old sand mounds, and then later plastic came into common use.

Nowadays you can get all sorts and manner of golf tees, and which ones a golfer uses are really down to personal preference. You can get small golf tees and large golf tees, short golf tees, long golf tees, and ultra-long golf tees. Wooden tees and plastic tees. Tees that are made out of solid plastic and those made out of transparent plastic. There's even tees with brushed nylon at the top to place your ball on.

Gamola plastic golf tees are just that. Plastic golf tees. Nothing strange or unusual about them at all! They are just the same as every other golf tee on the market in that you use them to tee up your golf ball! (End of story) They make and market a selection of different plastic golf tees as I've explained above. As far as tees go they seem to be fairly expensive. From 44 pence for a ten pack of small "Crown" tees (about 4.4 pence each) up to £4.21 for a pack of twenty long plastic "Brush" tees. (About 21 pence each; VERY expensive!)

If you're really keen on this particular brand (although I can't see they are any different to any other manufacturer) then you can go to their website....http://www.gamolagolf.co.uk They produce and market a very comprehensive range of golf accessories as well as tees, so if you're feeling particularly lazy and can't be bothered popping into the club professional's shop before your next round of golf, then you could buy all your supplies here.

Personally I think I'll continue to buy my golf tees in my local pro shop. Although I honestly can't remember the last time I actually purchased golf tees, as I pick up so many that other players have left lying around on the golf course.

Summary: No better and no worse than any other golf tee.

haha - I suggested this - but I don't know why it says 'Gamola' golf tees - as I suggested 'Plastic golf tees in general'. I only suggested plastic tees, as I saw there was an option to write a review for white wooden tees, and being a random sort of person, I thought plastic tees should be there also. Anyway, great review :)

It surprises me that anyone actually has to buy tees or balls nowadays. A quick wander around any course usually pays dividends.
