Golf equipment comes in levels which are chosen by your ability level with names such as Top Flight and Hippo offering very good and forgiving starter sets at good prices and then the names such as Callaway and Titleist tend to be aimed more for the good golfer looking to improve and are much mor expensive. Golf balls are also always been improved and with new dimple systems to allow for a truer ball flight and smoother run golf equipme...more

Crowned Review Golf Equipment in general: Golf. Get a lesson first! (2344 words)

"Ah, a good walk ruined" as some like to call it. Well, I dont consider it so after recently discovering the finer points of playing golf. Golf, as with most sports, is about the equipment you use and who sees you using it. The trouble is, more good golf equipment is damaged and ruined by people that dont know how to play than in any other sport. Reason being? Well, lets face it. Golf has a very "stuffy" image. This is one that I feel is now unjust. While golf was contained to the "affluent" set a few years ago, spending thousands on membership fees, there is a completely new breed of player now coming through. People like me. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Golf equipment - the end of development? (264 words)

Golf is a game which the equipment has moved on leaps and bounds sine the first set of golf clubs and balls when it was started. Today regulations on golf equipment are put in place to stop equipment from progressing much further as leading brands such as Nike, Callaway, Titleist and TaylorMade push to create the best golf clubs available. Personally I feel that the different makes all have their pros and cons, however I do not like Nike Golf clubs but do like their clothing ranges. Golf Equipment in general: The Great Ball War (608 words)
by - written on 25/01/01

As big and noisy, jam-packed and crazily busy as the annual PGA Merchandise Show always is, the chaos of the Y2K edition was intensified by one long-awaited event: Callaway Golf, the most successful driver maker ever and an $800 million company, plunged into the golf ball market. Later in 2000, the golf ball landscape was rattled by another earthquake when Nike Golf, a division of a $9 billion company, came out with the Tour Accuracy, got Tiger Woods to play it and watched with smiles as he won three major championships. So looking back, the question is this: Who won The Great Ball War of 2000? The answer? The consumer. The new competition unleashed new ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Golf Club Covers With A Difference (157 words)
by - written on 01/06/01 (Useful, 128 readings)
Rating:

I have recently purchased, as a gift for my golf mad son, a set of Clubcare golf club covers and I am thrilled with my choice. I ordered the covers online and they arrived within 10 days, beautifully packaged, looking a lot more expensive gift than the £19.99 + £2.99 p&p that I paid for them. The set comprises of three metalic gold covers, three metalic silver and three metalic bronze, and are personalised with a cut out initial of your choice. What makes these club covers so special, I'm informed by exstatic son, is that they are so easily cleaned. A quick rinse under the tap, squeeze and shake, and they're bone dry and back protecting the ...  Read the complete review

by - written on 01/08/01 (Useful, 686 readings)

Being an average sort of a golfer i have my good days and I have my bad days. Unfortunately, one thing never changes......my slice. I have only being playing reguarly for about 6 or 7 months but i have always had to contend with it. I have tried everything, correcting my stance, correcting my swing, correcting just about anything i could think off. So as you could imagine when I spied the new Wilson anti-slice tees i thought ic ould turn pro!!! They are only £1.99 for 5 tees and it has to be the best two quid I've ever spent. I am not hitting as straight as I've ever hit. Perhaps its just down to confidence....i dont know....truht i dont care....Bottom ...  Read the complete review
