This is a very useful kit for teaching the game of cricket to a young child. The bat is soft and lightweight, yet has the GN brand stickers that the kids will recognise their heros as using. Being lightweight the bat is ideal for youngsters to learn how to play the game, Im rather glad the bat is soft as there have been a couple of bat throwing instances im sorry to say!
The stumps are also soft incase there are any accidents! Although I have found them to be a little large when I used them.
The carry bag is perfect for taking the kit down to the park or to a friends, it all packs away neatly and easily. They say the carry case is strong but mine is beggining to break on the handle, not good - its going to be hard carrying all the kit to the park with no bag!
The kit is ideal for beach cricket for older people aswell, I have used it on the beach with my friends and the balls are great as they dont soak up water.
If I have one complaint it would be that more balls should come with the set as every parents knows balls seem to be attracted to fences, mainly the other side of the fence! As mentioned in another review the stumps are pretty light so do tend to blow over especially on a bumpy windy beach, but this was easily sorted with a few rocks added to the base of mine.

I'd give this set a rating of 7/10 its good at what it does but it could be better.

Summary: A good set for juniors to learn the game with.
