Cricket bags by their nature have to be large, preferably square shaped and have handles. It also helps if they have wheels at one end for moving around. Gunn and Moore are one of the oldest suppliers of bats, cricket paraphernalia and general cricket stuff. Their bats used to be the number one name in the sport but they also make cricket bags. Cricket bags Cricket bags have to be able to hold bats, pads, gloves, balls, stumps etc and therefore tend to be on the long side and rather large. They have to have lots of pockets for cricket balls, stumps, scorecards etc and need to be robust as they tend to get left outside when the game is on so can be inflicted with the worst of the English summer. They also need to be watertight for the same reason, and easy to store when not being used. The Gunn and Moore bag is one of the better ones, usually retailing in the £25 range it is a bag which is made of watertight plastic, with a large carrying capacity and a large D shaped pocket at one end for the smaller items such as balls etc. The bag comes with handles with velcro for putting together and as its square does tend to be used as a seat when the grass is a bit wet. I've used this bag for around £3 years, the capacity inside means that the bag can be zipped up and therefore put into hibernation for the winter with the knowledge that the contents will not spill everywhere. The bag appears to be robust and has withstood now 3 English cricket summers without breaking apart so that's good enough for me. I suspect that with a bit of bending I could get into the bag and have a bit of a kip whilst waiting to bat, saying that I usually come in at number 4 so usually I don't have to wait long.
This is the perfect cricket bag for any cricketer. If you are a starter to the game of cricket and have bought you're first set of pads and stuff then this bag is a perfect size to carry it all. However it is also a bag that you can have with you throughout your career and has enough room for any pieces of equipment you begin to aquire during your playing life. It's a great size to fit in nearly all cars of all shapes and sizes. The durability of this bag is great to. the reinforced corners prevent ripping and hardly show scuffs, there are only really two downsides to this bag, the first of these is that it doesn't have any wheels. Many cricket bags have wheels on and with a bag this size its aquard to carry so unless you are a fairly big guy, its a nightmare to get form car to changing rooms! the second fault is that the zip isn't very robust so becareful if you are stuffing the bag full as it has a tendancy to bust open every now and agian. overall not a bad bag for its brilliant £20 price tag but if real quality is what you are after look at the higher end of the market.
The 606 Big Bag is a hard wearing spacious bag designed to aid carrying and comfort. The Bag offers an Easi-Load system to improve loading and carrying; with a big 'D' opening for storage helped by a zipped end pocket.
