Advantages: Good racquet
Disadvantages: Too heavy
Andre Agassi plays with a Head Ti Radical racquet and he has won all four grand slams. Suggesting that maybe he has a bit of talent but the racquet must be good to. Ti Radical O/S -------------- This racquet is quite powerful but also has a fair bit of control. The head size is 690 sq cm and it weighs in at 295g. This is quite heavy for a tennis racquet and I found it hard to play with. This is because I play with a much lighter racquet and notice the difference. Something that I would say to people that are thinking about buying this racquet is make sure you try it out first. If you play with a heavy racquet already then this racquet would suit you very well, but I wouldn't suggest moving from a lighter racquet to this one. It is made out of Titanium Graphite and costs £139.99 but if you look around you will get a better price. Ti Radical Mid Plus ------------------- This racquet is similar to the one above. It is red and silver and has a head size of 630sq cm. This is around your average head size and has a good mixture of power and control. It weighs 295g, which is the same as the one above, so again I warn you about going from a heavy racquet to this racquet and not going from a lighter racquet. It is made from a mixture of titanium and graphite and would cost you £139.99, but again if you look around a better price will pop up. Radical Junior -------------- This racquet is very similar to the Ti Junior but it is a little bit heavier at 270g. Players younger then 9 would find it hard to play with this racquet, as they might find it a bit to heavy and hard to control the racquet head speed. This racquet costs £49.99 so is a little bit cheaper then the other junior racquet. --------------------------------------------- The above racquets are all excellent. A number of professional players use them, because of the power and control they can get from them. These racq
uets weigh a bit more then your average racquet, which gives them a bit more power. I know people that really love these racquets. They say that they have really livened up their games and have made them into much better players. Most head racquets are well balanced and feel nice. I have to say that I don't like these Radical racquets very much. They don't suit my game. I am sure that when you think that £139.99 is a lot of money to pay for a tennis racquet. Obviously there are much cheaper ones on the market but the quality of them will be a lot less. I think that it is better to spend a lot of money on a tennis racquet and get one that will last you for years then buying a racquet every six months. It is important not to keep on changing the racquet you play with. If you keep on changing say from a light racquet to a heavy racquet, or from a powerful racquet to a racquet based around control this will mess your game up. It will put your timing out and you will find more shots going out the back of the court. The Radical racquets are very funky colours. They have bright red streaks and this is a bonus. Some racquets are very dull and boring but these are very good. After playing with my Ti Fire I would find it very hard to stop playing with that and go straight into playing with a Ti Radical. I have done this once before when I swapped racquets with a mate for a match. It destroyed my game, as there was such a big difference between the two racquets. Also available in the Head Ti Radical range is the racquet bags. They have the same colour scheme and come in three different sizes. You can get a Radical Racket Combi, which holds four-six racquets, Radical Pro, which holds two-three racquets, or the Radical Large Holdall which has a racquet compartment, three outside pockets, shoe compartment and a place for your wet clothes. The Ti Radical is a good racquet but make sure before you buy it that i
t suits your game and that you are going to play well with it.

- 09/03/01 well you're definitely mad on tennis, can't say I am but I'll pass this op onto a friend who is...hmmm maybe I can get them to join ;o)
Nice op, and I actually managed to keep going to the end and I found it easy to read which is normally not the case when it's about something I'm not interested in...see you have my friend to thank I normally wouldn't have looked at anything to do with tennis...other than say Wimbledon on telly ;o) |
