Since the company was purchased by a consortium led by former NHL Superstar Wayne Gretzky, HESPELER has attacked the hockey stick market with the type of energy expected from a large scale manufacturer.

They have focused their attention on WOODEN STICKS, opting to stay clear of the highly competitive and up-scale COMPOSITE shaft market.

In general, they offer high quality sticks that maintain their FLEX for a resonable period of time, as you would expect of any high quality wooden stick. Even though they have recently grown, they have been in the market for decades. This experience can be seen and felt through the use of their sticks.

Offering a variety of low to high range sticks, their flagship model is of course the GRETZKY. Wayne himself used the stick his last year in NEW YORK. It is a medium weight stick with a medium flex and has the traditional Gretzky blade, rounded tip, extra height and mild curve. The extra height on the blade enables the user to coral those bouncing pucks more easily. The mild curve allows for spectacular backhands, great stick handling and passing.


Since his retirement Wayne has continued to remain active in the development of new products and ideas. HESPELER is poised to make a major move within the next year and a half. The company is actively seeking new PLAYERS to endorse their products in order to fill the void left by Wayne's departure from the game. Although they will never be able to completely fill this void, Wayne eventual involvement in PHOENIX should prove very interesting in the new marketing schme. Therefore, keep an eye out for some new elite Junior and Senior Models due to be released in the near future.
