... other day to find that after just 6 months of use, one of the 2 screws holding the seat onto the frame has fallen out and been lost. The seat doesn’t seem to be in any immediate danger of falling off, but I think this is a serious safety issue. The instruction manual indicates that this is a German manufacturer and no UK contact details are given. For spare parts you are told to refer to your retailer (can't see Argos helping with spare screws!). Although Argos would probably replace the trike for us...more

We got our daughter a Kettler Maxi trike (Argos, £40 I think) for her 2nd birthday. It appears to be quite sturdy, takes a while to screw all the parts together, but is supposed to last from age 2 to age 5, and I can see that it would. It has pedals, large wheels, and a removeable parent handle, and 3 seat positions. It also has a brake, however this seems very ineffective as it won't stay on.
