Kona Cinder Cone:
... have had a Kona for about 3 months now after geting back into mountain biking and my Diamondback falling apart after about 20 miles. I have done about 250 miles on the Kona now and its still works perfectly. This bike is very well made and flies both up and down hills. I would recommend any Kona bike but the cinder cone is a excellent bike for the money. I have tackle a few technical descents on the bike and Kona ... Kona Stinky ... used before so it was working fine from as soon as I got it. The designers seem to have gone for the assumption that stronger is better - and on a freeride bike this is exactly what you want. The triple crown fork is strong and reliable, although quite tricky to service. I was slightly disappointed with the brakes and was forced to change the hoses although this probably wasn t the fault of Kona. The shifters are more than halfway decent and the rear shock is simply immense. It soaks up trail bumps like they re not there and Kona have obviously been talking to their resident dirt jumpers the Llacondeguys because it damps the big hits like they don t exist. Overall ... Kona Stab Primo ... photo for this is an old kona stab, the review i am writing is for the 2005 kona stab. I have had a couple of down hill bikes before this one and they were all good but this bike rulled them all! It is by far the nicest bike i have ridden for downhill, the frame was excelent and the componet list was awesome, marzocchi 888vf forks, fox dhx4 rear shock, truvitive stem and bar, shimano xt rear mech, truvitive cranks, e13 chain guide, sin mtx rims, hayes hfx9 breaks, tioga whits tiger tyres and wtb saddle. This bike is pretty much ready to race at low level out of the box, and if you wanted to race at a high level you would only need to change a few things to keep the bi... Kona Stinky ... first rode a Kona on a mountain bike holiday- the difference compared to my £90 bike was enormous. So i saved up and bought a Kona Stinky. Firstly these bikes are at the high spec, top end of the market so be prepared to pay alot. I won`t bore you with the details on the spec of the bike as if your looking at buying one of these your already a keen mountain biker. I used my Stinky for cycling to work, and trail blazing at the weekends. It is good and sturdy, the gear changing is so smooth and effortless. I bought my bike from my local Kona dealer- you get much better customer service. Like anything you get what you pay for. I would recommend Kona bikes to anyone, bu...
