I happened to come across a T.V advert advertisting what seemed to be another very expensive, yet interesting peice of excercise equipment. So as usual in amazement I sat and watched the advert. It was for the Lateral Thigh Trainer. After having two children, my body never returned to its old self again, so I have been loooking around to try and find a cheap enough but effective excercise tool. So when the advert came on I was hooked and decided I had to get one and try it out. It was being advertised for 89.99 plus p&p, although it sounded goo, too good to be true infact i still thought it was very pricey. So I decided to go about getting one ... Read the complete review

This particular model was advertised as having a side to side motion, which would exercise parts of the legs a normal stepper would not reach, bringing into action the oblique's (side abdominal muscles). Creates a movement similar to a skating motion. As with all advertisements, the adverts gave the impression that this machine would produce dramatic results and used muscular, toned people to demonstrate the product, thus working on the visual stimulation that you too could achieve similar results. The product was very sturdy and made very little noise. After continuous use it did require a little maintenance in the form of WD-40. You also get a ... Read the complete review

The Lateral Thigh Trainer is one of those products that's advertised to death on TV. Shopping channels show hours of footage, and market it as if it's a miracle cure for obesity. Firstly, if you're going to get one of these, I would recommend not buying from the TV channels, where it can cost up to £100 - get one from the web and you can save a lot of money. But does it actually work? The machine itself is fairly large and heavy, but it can be carried from room to room if needs be. It's fairly well constructed, and you don't feel like you're going to break it when it's in use. There is a small lcd screen on the unit which measures ... Read the complete review

Lateral Thigh Trainers were all the rage last year, there are still plenty about but all the raving about them seems to have died down. Unlike a normal stepper the lateral thigh trainer also moves out to the side as you step. The idea is this will tone the outside of the thigh, it will, and create a slight twist to hit the abdominal obliques, again it will. At the same time it is good cardio workout so it sounds perfect especially as they can now be picked up for £20 or so. Some have the added power cord attachments so you can also move the arms against resistance as you step which also adds to the cardio effect. I tried one of these and ... Read the complete review

My wife and I bought one of these to replace our Gym membership in order to save a bit of cash in these tough times. It really is not half bad. If you have never used one of these before then you will almost certainly need to place it in front of the back of a chair as the movement can feel quite strange to start with. However, as with most things, the more you use it the easier it gets to use and you can soon get rid of the chair and replace with the resistance bands. My machine of preference in the gym was the cross trainer and whilst I have to say that this could never replace that, you can still build up your heart rate enough to give yourself a decent enough ...
