Advantages: Achieves results
Disadvantages: Poor quality chain, and they are no longer being manufactured.
This particular model was advertised as having a side to side motion, which would exercise parts of the legs a normal stepper would not reach, bringing into action the oblique's (side abdominal muscles).
Creates a movement similar to a skating motion. As with all advertisements, the adverts gave the impression that this machine would produce dramatic results and used muscular, toned people to demonstrate the product, thus working on the visual stimulation that you too could achieve similar results.
The product was very sturdy and made very little noise. After continuous use it did require a little maintenance in the form of WD-40. You also get a workout dvd with the product with Brenda Dygraff taking you through some easy to advanced sessions.
One of the common problems I have encountered with this product is that the chain snaps easily. In the first instance i called the company and asked them about replacements and they came in the price range of a new lateral thigh trainer, hence I took the sensible option and got a similar product from another company. The Reebok side stepper that I got as a replacement was from Argos and cost £49.99. With Argos, I have found that any issues I have had with a product, have been easily solved, either through a replacement item, or a refund, depending on how long you've had the item.
The computer on the LTT counts your accumulated strokes, strokes per minute, time and calories.
Storage wise it could pose a problem, as it is quite chunky. I have hidden it under my bed - out of the way, yet easily accessible for when I want a quick burst of exercise.
It comes with the actual LTT, Training computer & battery, Owners manual, Food Plan, Workout DVD.
Does it produce results?
Yes, for the time I was able to use the thigh trainer it did produce results. I used it every day for at least 45 minutes. I lost 1 ½" off my legs within a couple of weeks. Obviously, I also watch what I eat, but I definitely attribute shape and tone to the LTT.
The LTT has dropped dramatically in price recently, more than likely with the introduction of other similar equipment. The original product has been discontinued from Brenda DyGraf's official website. As I have stated, this particular product did do the job for a while but I found the chain to be the key factor in its demise. There are many other similar products out there, so I'd advise you get the Reebok one, which has served me well.
Summary: Achieve results, alot of different products out there, so shop around
