Brought to us by Liquid Logic the Jefe is one of the better creek boats they have to offer us. Firstly its mainly for honking down great falls and steep runs, and comes in three main sizes, the jefe (paddler weight 57-93kg) the smaller version the Jefe Chico and the big one the Jefe Grande.

It's a very spacious boat and I found it very responsive and controllable. Compared to the predecessor the Huck its a huge improvement. The Huck, as the name suggests, allows you to go off pretty ferocious drops but with the Jefe it allows you to do it in control. It tracks very well and holds good speed and is in fact very comfortable in big water, to the extent when you are paddling anything less than grade 3 it feels clumsy....purely because its not in the environment it was born for. It can still surf waves what with its large round hull and such but definitely keep it for the rainy days.
On the rollibility of the Jefe I would say its a long boat and comes up fine, as long as you aren't expecting a lightning fast playboat roll.

Overall out of 10 I would review the Jefe as an 8, a great creek boat, but you need to be in big water all the time............which is not a bad thing.

If you see the graphics on the chico, they come in a few different designs, ie the flowers or flames, but at the time of writing are only available on the newer models.
The Jefe comes with extra outfitting as as the newer models are only being made at present they come with their brand of outfitting..namely BADASS OUTFITTING....Very impressive and comfortable, it resembles somewhat an armchair, with the seat being fully closed with foam and what is a very comfortable shaping of the chair, it would be fair to say that it is actually pretty warm too..check out the pictures on liquidlogickayaks.com/badassoutfitting.cfm

Prices at present would vary you should contact your local dealer but for the Jefe I paid in and around the 600 mark.
