Magnum Plus 185cm Reset Combi Cable Bike Lock

I bought this lock for £25 from Halford, as it looked quite robust and easy to carry. Well my opinion is that I wasted my money. They really should ban cable locks like this because they do not pose a problem to a potential thief. I locked my mountain bike up to a lamp post and popped into a few shops. When I came back, the lock was cut, but thankfully someone had seen what was happening and had scared the guy off and was standing by my bike... thank goodness there are some nice people in the world. My last bike related review, and another purchase from Halford's. The Magnum Plus bike lock and cable is exactly what it says it is. Cable: The cable itself is 'heavy duty extra flexible steel cable', which it actually is, flexible that is. Many bike cables are so thick that you have to be an Olympic weightlifter to wrap it around your bike. This isn't, it folds up neatly into a little coil and fits well into any pocket of a backpack. It is encased in a thick, clear plastic sheaf and is 185 cm long.....that is not far off two metres. Again, this is much better than some cables that barely stretch around your bike.
