Some people have a strong aversion to the twin lens'd masks (as shown in dooyoo's picture) others to the single lens, its all down to personal choice. Some have clear silicon skirts, others black or occasionally silver, and even rarer coloured versions can be found. As one or two people may have noticed I like scuba, and recently I managed to get myself a new job, working in my local dive shop, so for the last couple of months I seem to have spent my spare time with my head buried in manfacturers spec sheets and catalogues while learning as much as I can about the kit we stock. What do you look for when buying a Dive mask? For me it was a comfortable fit, a good seal, and low internal volume. Mind you doing the nose test in the middle of a crowded shop did make me feel a bit stupid! For those of you who are non-divers and looking to buy your first mask let me explain the nose test. Place your chosen mask onto your face but do not put the strap round your head. Inhale through your nose and let go of the mask with your hands. A mask is the most personal item of equipment you will own.It must fit your face exactly, and that can mean trying on many styels before finding the right one for you. Butthats not all--beyond fit you should consider comfort and function. I have had sevan differant types and the thay have been the mojority of the different brands currently available in this country.
