Yes, the NBA season is upon us once more. It feels as if I have waited so long for it to return after thoroughly enjoying last seasons exciting victory for the Lakers. Since the playoffs, over the off-season there have been some interesting changes to some of the team's structures through the free-agent signings and sign-and trade deals.

I'm already in the mood and can't wait for the NBA coverage on ITV and ITV2. I absolutely love basketball, and can't get enough of it especially during the season. I feel very deprived living in Britain, as we don't get as much coverage as I hope to, not all of the games are shown, we have to catch the highlights on ITV. This particularly annoys me when it means missing my favourite teams play. And during the off-season we aren?t given any info at all. At least I don't know of any. I log on to nba.com to find out the latest.

I'm a proud Lakers fan, but I am far from a glory supporter, just in case that's what you had started to think. No, I have been loyal to them for as long as I found my love for the sport. Young Kobe Bryant, paired together with the giant, Shaquille O'Neal is what did it for me. I just find the games that they play exciting and inspiring to watch. Though I also find watching (White Chocolate) Jason Williams, playing for the Sacramento Kings very entertaining. Others, like Sprewell, Tim Duncan and David Robinson help form the game I love. Some for their aggressive offence like Latrell Sprewell, others for solid defence, and then there?s Jason Williams for his impressive flash moves (which he all too often allows to get to his head!).

As I have said, there have been some changes during the off-season. The Lakers are going to have some competition it seems.
The Spurs have kept Tim Duncan, the most wanted free-agent so the twin tower remains (Duncan & Robinson). They also got themselves a shooting guard, Derek Anderson. They look to b
e a threat to the Lakers.
The other main contenders in the Western Conference are the Portland Trail Blazers. They truly have an amazing team to compete with. They have speed and agility from Stoudamire (Mighty Mouse), point forward Pippen, who was part of the successful Bull's team when MJ played, and aggressive play from Wallace.
In the Eastern conference I'm not looking forward to see Miami Heat in progress. They are my brother's favourite team, so there is some rivalry over that. They are going to be the best in the East this time round, looking to make it to the Eastern Conference Finals at least. They are going to be scoring more and stealing more with the help of newcomer Eddie Jones. Brian Grant replaces P.J Brown and Weatherspoon, and Anthony Mason comes in for Mashburn. Teamed up with Alonzo Mourning, Dan Majerle and Tim Hardaway, I think he may still lead anyway.

Wow, I'm getting carried away. Anyway, there's a lot to look forward to, at least I definitely am. Iv bought myself a copy of NBA Live 2001 today to get cracking on.
Please, if you love b-ball as much as me I would love to hear your comments. Have you ever been to see an NBA game?

I remember I saw the Harlem GlobeTrotters. They were great! So much energy and enthusiasm, it was hilarious!

I feel the urge to shoot some hoops.
