Basketball is the most popular sport in America and will continue to be for many years to come. The N.B.A (National Basketball Association) is the main league in the U.S and is divided into two leagues- the Western Conference and the Eastern Conference. At the end of the season, the four highest- finishing teams in the Conferences are entered into the Playoffs. These matches are played over four matches, twice at both of the teams stadiums.

Basketball does not gain the coverage that it deserves. Until recently the only airing of basketball was on a Saturday program on C4, but even that has been stopped. I have not seen the NBA recently, but there have been a lot of changes recently. The 10 year domination of the Chicago Bulls has abruptly ended and they even managed to finish last in the Eastern Conference last year. On the other hand, Miami Heat and Minnesota Timberwolves have emerged as the teams to beat.

I would consider the best team in the NBA to be the Los Angeles Lakers. They have a reputation ,like Man Utd, as being the biggest team in the country and a huge bank balance. They also possess three of the most talented 'B- Ball' players in Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant and Allan Iverson.
