Pilates- it will improve your whole life (Pilates)

Advantages: stress relieving, easy to learn Disadvantages: none I heard all about Pilates from friends but wasn't really sure what all the fuss was about. I had a friend show me what it was all about and found that this way of exercise has incredible benefits. I have had issues with my back after playing rugby for years and slouching over a desk at work. The Pilates system focuses on strengthening your core muscles ( muscles that around your abdomen and back that form the trunk of your body) and toning the rest of your body at the same time. I was really impressed by the sense of awareness and control over your body that you very quickly develop. The exercises make you realise when you are standing or sitting wrongly. The Pilates exercises are really easy to pick up and learn, there are plenty of books, dvds and lessons available. Pilates can easily be incorporated in to other exercises as well as being done by itself. I tend to use the stretches I have learnt in my warm up for rugby. The breathing techniques are great at relaxing and useful technique for de-stressing at the end of the day. Summary: great exercises for improving health and health and de-stressing |
