I bought my Powerball without ever having used one before, and got it just on word of mouth from others. The concept is simple. Within the ball is a gyroscope, which is started with a length of string which you must wrap around it. Once the string is around the ball, give it a sharp pull and the gyroscope will start spinning quickly. The idea is then to have your palm around the Powerball and using only your wrist, bring the gyroscope up to much higher speeds. I bought this Powerball Neon Pro a while back after having a go on one at a friend's house. It is originally designed to treat Repetitive Strain Injuries and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and it can buy used to improve grip and wrist action which is great for golfers, tennis players and the like. I use it once or twice a day and it really doesn't take long. You simply wind it up and then tug on the cord to get the gyroscope spinning. Whilst holding the Powerball down by your side, the idea is to increase its revolutions as much as you can for as long as you can (which is usually about 30 - 50 seconds to start with), by rotating your wrist in a circular motion. I got the Powerball Neon Pro as a gift for my husband, but I've probably used it nearly as much as he has, so it's definitely suitable for everyone! The Powerball is a grip training device which can also be used to treat Repetitive Strain Injury and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. To use it, you have to get the rotations going by rotating your wrist with the Powerball in your hand, or you can use the cord provided to give it an initial spin. Once you get it going, you can start to go faster but you have to keep a good rhythm or it just stops working!
