Advantages: great for all ages
Disadvantages: only suitable to a certain weight
A trampette may seem like a strange item to have in my garden, but it made it out into the range of garden toys we have by accident, and it has stayed a firm favourite ever since.
My daughter and I go to a toddler trampolining class when time permits, and they also have a small trampette the same as this one to keep children amused whilst waiting for their turn on the larger trampoline.
She loved it so much I started to look around into getting a toddler trampoline for the garden. After looking at all the various styles and types around on the market, and reading reviews on all of them, I still wasn't sure which to get.
The trampette arrived a couple of days later, courtesy of grandma, and bought for my teenage daughter to use as a form of exercise.
Needless to say she has never used it, and my toddler has fallen in love with it and it has joined her other toys out in the garden during sunshine hours.
The trampette was bough from Argos for £19.99. It came flat packed with the legs separate from the body. It only required the simple form of screwing the legs into the holes provided and the trampette was ready to go.
Looking at it, it appears sleek and easy to store, being able to fit under the bed, or even by undoing the legs it can be stored in even the thinnest of spaces if space is in short supply in your house.
There are enough springs to keep an adult safe on this trampette, and I have had my fair share of goes when my younger daughter hasn't been around as its great exercise, even in front of the TV.
By doing a bit of research I learnt that anyone up to the weight of 15 and a half stone can use this trampette.
Anyone using this at a lesser weight is supported by the re enforced springs and triple stitched nylon mat.
For younger users, I like this trampette because she can get on and off it with ease, and have a bounce on her feet as well as her bottom if she wants to. I prefer this style of trampette to the junior ones with front handle bars, as I feel they are slightly safer with less risk of a young child putting all their weight on a front handle bar and toppling the trampette over.
The down sides to this are that I have seen my daughter bounce off balance and almost fall off the side of the trampette.
The legs aren't very big and the whole machine sits probably about 20 centimetres from the ground of that, so he won't have too much of a fall if she does overbalance.
For more mature users such as myself, I find it very comfortable to bounce on with enough room on the bed to bounce without feeling as you are going to fall off. The base is approx 1 meter diameter and the edges are covered with a foam filled PVC material to protect you against the springs and also to make it look a bit nicer.
You can't get really high bounces from the trampette but even a few inches of the bed gives your whole body a good cardio vascular work out. If you mix the bouncing with some arm movements and exercises then you almost have a good overall work out worked out.
Overall I would recommend this trampette for adults and children alike. Prior to getting this I wouldn't have thought of one for my daughter but it's been a great accidental buy.
Summary: a great way to have fun and exercise at the same time

- 27/04/09 I agree-they do seem safer than the ones with a handle. Ann |

- 26/04/09 As a former trampolining teacher of todlers, I think these are MUCH safer to have at home, since as you say you cannot go too high. |

- 26/04/09 I've used the full size one with the itlets and, good grief, it's knackering! I'm not surprised this is good for keeping fit. |
