Advantages: Good cheap boots
Disadvantages: Built for strikers
When i was younger i used to love Puma football boots. The fact that they were always in amazingly bright and distinctive colours always got me wearing them.
However, today they seem to concentrate on very lightweight boots, such as the Vkonstrukt, which just is no use to a centre back with little flair or technique.
Thus, my Puma boot days are over, but i can still see some good options and reasons for why these boots would still be a good buy.
1. Firstly, they are always comfortable. Puma built a reputation on providing comfort on the pitch, as it was their philosophy that this would make you perform better, which is probably true, no one plays good football if their limping around the pitch.
2. The price - The great thing about Puma boots is that they always seem to very reasonably priced. I remember my dad loving my interest in the Puma boots because you could always get them for about £30 which is a steal compared to some boots.
3. The colours - Still, the image of Puma remains. I love the fact that they often dare to be different and have a variety of different coloured boots. Many brands nowadays seem to stick with the norm and be boring, particularly rivals such as umbro, whos boots always seem very unimaginitive and slightly boring.
However, as i mentioned the downside of these boots seems to be the fact that they are going more and more towards a strikers market. They seem to be concentrating on very lightweight boots built for speed. That unfortunately is not what i am looking for.
Summary
-----------
Therefore, i would recommend these boots, but it really depends on where your playing on the pitch.
