Marin Palisade Trail:
... is a specialist mountain bike, not quite at professional mountain biker standard, but from a make Marin that some professional mountain bikers use. I paid £750 for mine and am not that impressed. It is made with lots of expensive components, many of them are Shimano and it has disc brakes which are better than standard brakes. It is also lighter than your average mountain bike because triple butted aluminium ... Read the full review: Expensive, flash looking but non exciting performance. by eyedo6789 |

Kona Stinky ... I d like to point out that this bike can be picked up for around 800 quid which is surprisingly good value for a bike of this calibre. I got mine from a local shop that I have used before so it was working fine from as soon as I got it. The designers seem to have gone for the assumption that stronger is better - and on a freeride bike this is exactly what you want. The triple crown fork is strong and reliable, although quite tricky to service. I was slightly disappointed with the brakes and was forced to change the hoses although this probably wasn t the fault of Kona. The shifters are more than halfway decent and the rear shock is simply immense. It soaks up ... Read the full review: the performance isn't quite so stinky by MATTYT2 |

Specialized Hardrock ... image and title is a little misleading since the specialized hardrock is in fact a group of bikes not a single model. There are five different models in this category: Sport Sport Disk (hydraulic/cable) Sport Pro Comp xc My experience is with the hardrock sport disk (hydraulic) as an entry level Downhill mountain biking and single tracking mountain bike. First off to do any real off road mountain bike you need to have a REAL mountain bike like this one or better. The Sport disk is considered an entry level mountain bike costing a very reasonable £400, this may seem a lot to non bikers but trust me for a real mountain bike of this quality it is VERY good value for... Giant XtC DS-1 ... m a bit stuck on how to describe this bike. it s not bad, it s not exceptional. to be honest there s not really much to say about it. The frame showcases giants excellent hydroforming system and comes in an understated grey, which exudes quiet strength. It comes with top spec Shimano groupsets and rear mech, which ensure quick and easy changes. Shimano s new LX rapidfire shifters really do the trick, and you can now opt to change both ways with your thumb. Giant s own brand brakes are excellent but the hubs are far less than this and clearly show where money has been saved on this bike. The problem with this bike is that it tries to be all things to all people. It just... Read the full review: What can I say? by MATTYT2 |
