Canada's Best Kept Secret! (Rocky Mountain RM6)

Advantages: Pedal Efficiant, Hand Built, Strong Disadvantages: Heavy, Flexy
The Rocky Mountain is a fabulous bike! I would like to start off with saying though that it is quite an old bike, and not available anymore, it was last available to buy in the 2001 Season. All of the Rocky Mountain frames are hand made in Canada, no cheap Taiwan frames here! All the parts are selected only from the best hand-made companies, again, no cheap Taiwan parts! The frame uses Easton RAD tubing, very good quality aluminium. The bike is designed for Downhill Racing, and so has a large amount of suspension, six inches! Now usually if you put a bike with six inches of suspension on a flat road and try to pedal, it will bob up and down and your energy will be going downwards instead of across. But, Rocky Mountain have solved that problem with they?re thrust link! It gives smooth pedal efficiency! Even through a heavy bike! The bike weighs around 22 kg, which you might think is very heavy, but all the weight is there for the strength, which it needs when its hitting rocks and jumps at 30MPH +!!! With a race face and shimano drive train, this thing kicks most other retailers butts! Overall this is a very good bike for what it was designed for! Summary: |
