I love sailing, and will soon be moving into a shared house from my lovely apartment to try and save up enough money to buy a dinghy and keep myself sane for the next couple of years! The boat I'll go for will undoubtedly be a Laser. An olympic class single-hander, it's a bit more like a giant ironing board with a sail than your traditional boat, but they go like stink when you've got a bit of a breeze. As well as this, I'll carry on using my trusty sailing gear. Most of what I have is made by a company called Gul, mostly because it looks pretty cool, wears well, and is reasonably priced. The Koden MD-3420 radar is now superceded by newer models, but bearing in mind that new models come out yearly, and usualy with little difference between them, thats not really an issue. I'd been looking to get radar in the next 2 - 3 years when I could save up for it, and expected to get something like the JRC1000 which is the chaepest at the moment at an amazing (for radar)£670 on average. The disadavantages of course being its LCD screen - but hey, better than no radar at all. So when I saw a Koden MD-3420, with CRT (far superior to LCD of course)in an online auction and the bidding only up to £250 at that point, I thought I'd put in a silly bid before ...
