Advantages: Good allround ski, look good.

Disadvantages: Top level performance

Salomon have done it again. It terms of styling and image the Pilot 10 (and the 8 for that matter) are unmatched this year. Whoever is in the design department knows how to make skis that will stand out and be noticed.
Perhaps more importantly though is how they ski. A wide tip and a soft flex make for a fun ski to use. Fast, cruising, carving turns and the edge grip is great. Short turns are easy and effortless. However short, fast aggressive turns and you notice that these are not stiff in the tail, and lack support but if you notice that, then you'd probably be better of on a higher performance ski anyway (check out the Rossi 9S TPower!).
The idea of side mounted bindings (they are screwed into the side of the skis rather than the top) is Salomon at its finest. The thinking being that this allows the ski to flex in a truer curve without the boot/binding combo stopping the ski flexing along the whole length. Great gadget! I doubt the majority of us skiers who aren't Olympic champions would notice the 'flat spot' anyway. If you were cynical you might think that this side mounting on the skis means that Salomon have ensured that you have to buy the Salomon bindings, or maybe it is the way forward ;-)
A good allround ski, and you are sure to see lots of them on the slopes this year. Try them out.

These babies know how to fly!
I borrowed my hubbys crossmax10's after wimping out of blading in Verbier on sheet ice and rocks ( yes the chrismas just gone), the sensation you get from these skis is like nothing else! My own skis Rossi Saphirs are now out of a job. The stability and ease of turn is awesome, not forgetting speed.

The Cross10's have transformed my Skiing almost overnight.

Being a bit on the lazy side at getting fit before each holiday I noticed a huge lack of leg fatigue, thanks to the Prolink system.
Although I now ski on last Seasons Pilot8's, my husbands casts offs, my skiing has improved vastly and I tackle reds and blacks with no fear.
My only grumble is that seem a bit on the heavy side.

Salomon are on to a winner with the Pilot binding system, I would recommend them to any skier that wants a truly outstanding all mountain experience.
