Advantages: build speed and agility.
Disadvantages: cost, time to set up, fragile and limited area to use one.
A boxing partne that does not hit back!!! In theory this sounds like a great bit of equipment but please read this before buying one and then make your mind up. I wanted one of these things for ages but when I got it I was not so happy.
The slam man costs around £200 and £210 inc delivery. It must be filled with 100kgs of sand (water is no good) this is a further £12 - £15, you will need to buy some better gloves as the ones provided are poor (sparring gloves are best) extra £15. Ready to go???? nope!!
Filling Slam Man with sand is not as easy as it sounds.. the hole in which you do this is very small and if your sand is slightly damp then it will take anything up to 4 hours.
Do not buy this if you do not have a garage as it makes a huge echoing noise when hit indoors and your neibours and family will go mental. A back garden is no good as you need it to be slightly dark to see the lights (as I found out) Slam Man was sold to me as something that could take any amount of workout level from novice to professional but after a few days when the manufactuor had to collect it for repair they told me it was not really for a high impact work out (so why call it 'slam' man) Once it was returned to me after a week it broke down straight away again with various faults.
I then had to get my money back once it was collected but nobody was in a hurry to pick it up. I may have had just a dodgey model but even if it worked i DO NOT THINK IT IS WORTH THE MONEY, in fact I would pay no more that £50 for one.
Summary: This does not do what it says on the tin. I strongly recomend an alternative bit of excersise gear.
