Advantages: Great for kids and someone new to boxing

Disadvantages: Breaks easily and not worth the money - Standard Punching bags are better

I recently purchased the SlamMan for working out and getting back into boxing and I thought this would be a motivating way to do that since the SlamMan is like an interactive sparring partner without punching back. Unfortunately, it requires a ton of sand, which takes a long time to fill and not to mention extremely difficult getting it out. Also, when I first put it together and took my first punch the chest sensor went flying off and I had to try and put it back on manually. I was also trying to push the buttons on the computer and it no longer beeped each time a light appeared. Oh, which if you are going to use the SlamMan I highly recomend using it indoors with dim lights, because I had it outside and there is noway to see which lights are coming on due to the natural light. Another issue I had was its made of really hard material, so you don't want to it too hard where it will hurt your wrist. Working out my second day I was throwing body shots and it's extrememly loud due to the brackets in the back, it's a loud rattleing sound. Also, I hit a body shot and the bracket too came off! At this time I'm ready to ship it back, so I call to find out how I can do so. They said to just take the sand out and ship it back. I paid around $200 for the SlamMan including tax and shipping. I went to UPS the next day and they were going to charge me $112 just to ship it back! I was not about to pay a total of $312 for an item that broke the second day. So, I took a stab and went to Play it Again Sports and they took it off my hands with an exchange of a Everlast punching bag and I have been using that ever since and love it! Brings it back to basics! The SlamMan seems like it would be fun for kids and someone that is new to boxing, but beware of the novelity of it wearing off.

Summary: I didn't like the SlamMan due to the many componants breaking within the first week.
