Advantages: Workout at home, very durable

Disadvantages: Sand - awkward to get in and out

I have owned this for the past 6 months, and it gives you a fantastic workout, especially if you are into combat sports. Unlike a punchbag, he literally stands, weighed down by sand for you to unleash your power at him. The mini computer attached to his body allows you to co-ordinate punches and also doubles up as a timer. The lights go up in sequence and you literally have to punch the lights out. Not only can you punch him, but you can also give your legs a workout by kicking him. When he's just stood, not being used, put a hoody on him and he can be used as an intruder deterrent! The materials he's made of are really tough and durable. If you fill up with 100kg of sand you're on you way to a great workout. With the slam man you get a booklet and cd explaining how best to deliver punches - for anyone who's a novice and a diet guide, which I found useful. One issue I did have with him was the way sand has to be put in - very time consuming, especially if you ever have to move house. They should have thought that one through a bit more and had some form of opening at the bottom. This retails at £189.99 in most places depending on if you have a preference of colour (for which you will have to pay extra).
