Advantages: Get fit whislt watching tv!
Disadvantages: Can't do much standing up with it one
What is it?
The slendertone belt is a fabric belt, with a battery and a little "interface" on the front. The belt also has little metal pegs, which discharge current. The pegs either connect to these pads, or via a special conductive gel, which means that when the pegs discharge, your abs get a little electric shock, causing them to contract. Its this contraction, that repeats over and over which "tones" your abs.
What does it feel like?
The belt is not painful due to the electric shock so much, is more a sort of painful due to the contraction, rather like a normal sit up is, only slightly more, as its not voluntary. Although the adverts say use whilst jogging as so on, thats utter rubbish. The only real way to use this belt is sitting down, (for maximum power anyway), as if you are standing, every time you get a load of contractions, you start bending over, making walking, or doing anything standing up tricky.
Does it work?
In a phrase, yes, it does work, after a week, using it once a day, you really start to notice the difference.
In conclusion?
I don't use mine much, its not because i don't have time, as when i used to use it, it was whilst watching the tv, but for some reason, i never think to go get it, i am too busy worrying about missing my program. But it is a nice bit of kit, and once you get used to the feeling of the electric shock, its not too bad.
Summary: I don't use it much anymore, but it is a nice bit of kit
