I have received two automated replies to two e-mails saying the same thing, i.e. out of stock and we will pursue the manufacturer, but no reply to the third e-mail sent on 12/10/07 asking for the expected date of delivery. I cancelled my order on 19/10 and asked for my money back. Again, to date, not received. My advice - totally steer clear of this company. Re-above, filter received today which I have acknowledged. I might give the company another chance but communication was not all that it should be....more

Premium Review Spare Parts: Filtered through! (125 words)

I agree with Rythmking in his review on Spares2go. I ordered a Haden Electric Kettle Filter at £13.01 on 13/9/07. My money was deducted on the same day but, to date, I have not received the filter. Premium Review Clipless (spd) pedals - the pro's & Cons (443 words)
by - written on 30/01/01 (Very useful, 434 readings)
Rating:

If you're riding XC there is no other option, you should be riding clipless! Clipless pedals (so called because they do not require a toe clip & strap)improve bike control, power transfer, efficiency of pedal stroke (your foot is closer to center of spindle) & allow those that have trouble lifting the bike at the rear to cheat! Mainly used for XC not trials, downhill or duel, some platform types exist like the shimano m646's that can be good for all disciplines! There are two main players in the mtb emporium; these are Shimano who make the spd (shimano pedal dynamics) & Time who make the Atac. But I've seen loads of other makes I ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Spare Parts: ARE YOUR BITS TAKING A BASHING (108 words)

Rating:

If like me you spend an excessive amount of time in the saddle, then maybe its time you invested in an anatomically designed cycle saddle. The best one on the market at the moment is the TERRY MENS LIBERATOR.Designed with a hole in the middle which is in the same place as the main artery feeding blood to your reproductive organs therefore minimising restriction. I think this saddle is very comfortable it transfers all the pressure onto the seat bones just as it is supposed to. The hole is discreet and there is plenty of padding.I would definately consider spending £34-99 on this product. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Need a new Frame ? (291 words)
by - written on 31/08/01 (Useful, 36 readings)
Rating:

For those of you out looking for a new frame, i'd recommend purchasing a Marine Quake frame. I bought a marine Quake 9 a few months back and its certianly given me value for money, and is one of the most sturdy bikes i've had. The Marine Quake frame comes in three colour scheme those being a combination of grey yellow red and blue. The Quake 9 model has a yellow and grey paint job and looks rather plush. The frame comes in a range of sizes, but being a dirt jumping/Dual bike those sizes are generally small (my own model is a 13" frame). The tubing is triangular in shape, which from your science lessons will tell you adds to strength. Where the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Spare Parts: Gears slowing down? (241 words)
by - written on 27/09/01 (Useful, 79 readings)
Rating:

Are you having problems with regular mis-shifts, or gears taking ages to engage? Well if so, why not follow the following tips that could get your gears super smooth and quickly in all conditions! For a start, make sure you are using appropriate gear outers - many people, unknowingly actually use brake hoses instead or gear hoses, which will completely mess your gearing. Why? - well its quite simple, brake cable outers are a coiled piece of wire, coated in plastic, whereas, gear outers have the wire running long ways from end to end (straight rather than coiled), which greatly reduces friction, especially on cuves in the wire, and reduces the effort you ...  Read the complete review
