I have only been skating for about 6 months now but it quickly became my life and I couldn't think of a better way to spend my time. The past weak has been hell for me because I folded my ankle kickflipping a 6 stairset and have been unable to skate but thats the disadvantage of skateboarding. But when I am fit to skate the rush you get when pulling off new and old tricks is phenonemol and there is no other feeling like it,Its the sense of achievement that keeps me happy.

Skateboarding is very expensive though as a good complete skateboard(board,trucks,wheels,bearings)will set you back around £120.If your just starting though there are some cheap begginer boards for around £30-£40.

If you have a skateboard you can skate almost anywhere but the best places to skate are designated skate parks which will useually include things such as halfpipes,flatbanks,funboxes and grinding rails.Even if there's not a skatepark in your area it's easy enough to make your own wooden ramps and if you wax up curbs and ledges they can be good for grinding on.

The best profesional street skater of all time is Rodney Mullen who skates for 'A-Team' skateboards,Destructo trucks and Darkstar wheels. He's been pro. for 16 years now and invented moves such as the kickflip,kickflip underflip,impossible and casper 360 flip.If you want to see him pulling off some amazing tricks I suggest you watch the video'Rodney Mullen Vs Daewon Song'because its brilliant.

So any of you who haven't started skateboarding yet get out there get a board and give it a go,you won't regret it.
