Thai Boxing

Muay Thai is a variation of kicboxing which also has a totally different style to it, and after being taught by a muay thai expert it is lethal. The basic's are this, two people in a one on one combat ring, and it's not anything goes but a lot of moves are allowed in Muay Thai. Elbows are allowed in Thai Boxing unlike in Kickboxing and there are no gloves in a traditional thai boxing match. Also there are not mouth guards in a conventional Thai boxing match. Thai Boxing (Muay Thai) is the national sport of Thailand. Muay Thai is one-on-one combat in a square ring, opponents use the elbows, knees, shins and fists to strike and block their oppoenets blows. I trained at a local Muay Thai gym a few years ago for fitness, and the training was rigourous, but excellent for strength and conditioning, and a good stress reliever.
